Hi ludic,

It's not something I'm familiar with. Without any context, I would assume it means something along the lines of "Grow up, I can't be your mother and follow you around and take care of everything."

It is an odd way of saying it: "mothering someone" is pretty common, but "mothering around" is strange.

Possibly the phrase I used most often in dealing with my staff: I am not your mother ! Runner-up ? What exactly were you thinking ?

well, I was giving someone a piece of my mind, and he just kept arguing, and I said that en passant. Now, I'm wondering if I spoke wrong...

I think the intent is understandable.

:P

It's the 'angel' emoticon Angel.

I think I missed some episode of The Simpsons, because I'm unable to draw the connection with Homer...

RuthP, thanks :)
