I think it is a very interesting way to look at it. One sided Love hurts because we tend to want to 'possess' the other person. If we can learn to love independent of our possessiveness and enjoyed the other person's happiness than we are truly an enlightened being.

The concept of love seems to be too abstract..

The state of 'nothing else matters' can probably explain the feeling of the rapturous love.

SACRIFICE also seems to be an integral element of love,,, but how can one explain the self love?
