I can't speak for stolen kisses, but he's definitely on to something with idleness. The cult of busyness seems to dominate our modern existence, and a respite from the constant motion we're in must at times be pilfered from the ohterwise endless stream of demands and activity that engages us.

I can grasp the concept of 'sweet idleness', but I can not grasp why anyone would want to steal idleness....And there is the other issue: distinguishing between physical idleness and spiritual idleness!

Stolen kisses? The one being kissed against their will won't find them so sweet! Shame on you

Freely offered kisses are sweet! Angel

I was going to say this! He'll be in for a slap on the face, a kick in the groin, or a sexual harassment charge with these "stolen" kisses. Shame on you

So I guess it’s like the feeling Little Johnny started off with when he faked being sick so he wouldn’t have to go to school. He got to sleep late and stay in his pajamas all morning. Before his mother left for work, she ordered a pizza with all his favorite toppings to be delivered to him by lunchtime. After that, he texted all his friends at school, taunting them as they were eating the day-old spaghetti they got from the school cafeteria. He was truly enjoying his idleness—at least until Little Ray-Ray texted him back about an Instagram he had just posted. Little Johnny clicked on the link. And that’s when all the good feelings he was experiencing whooshed out of him like water from a sink that had just been unclogged. The picture Little Ray-Ray sent was one of him kissing Little Johnny’s girlfriend on the cheek! Little Johnny could clearly see his girl’s sublime grin as she enjoyed that sweet stolen kiss.

Complete paragraph from :THE IDLE THOUGHTS OF AN IDLE FELLOW.

ON BEING IDLE.

It is impossible to enjoy idling thoroughly unless one has plenty of work to do. There is no fun in doing nothing when you have nothing to do. Wasting time is merely an occupation then, and a most exhausting one. Idleness, like kisses, to be sweet must be stolen.

Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow, published in 1886, is a collection of humorous essays by Jerome K. Jerome. It was the author’s second published book and it helped establish him as a leading English humorist. While widely considered one of Jerome’s better works, and in spite of using the same style as Three Men in a Boat, it was never as popular as the latter. A second "Idle Thoughts" book, The Second Thoughts of An Idle Fellow, was published in 1898.

We must be as grateful for time spent in wasted idleness as we actually are for time spent in accomplished fruitfulness.
Each is of the same origin: A limited spending account. Always in motion time only can tell how we are going to spend it,
but the essence of it is that of a gift. Can't rob Peter to please Paul.
