Since a recent post takled the issue of nakedness I thought this topic would be of interest. I recently watched a film called: Room in Rome, which explores with delicacy and subtlety lesbianism, worth watching and well-accomplished in the discourse of its plot.

Romper Stomper's has an epic sex scene in it, and it is a decent film all over, starring Russell Crowe. Another interesting film is "Chloe" which has a wicked lesbian sex scene, and stars Liam Neeson. It also has a very good plot, with many twists that discombobulate you, over and over and over...

Applause I just searched that on imdb, and it is a documentary about insects. Must of been a lovely sex scene between dung beetles.

Call me unromantic or whatever but I've yet to see a sex scene (& even tho' this posting was originally love what we're really referring to is sex - which may or may not be anything to do with love) where I don't cringe at how far off the real thing it is. I've never melted ice cubes on my husband (or any past partners) and certainly wouldn't want them melted on me as foreplay! No-one ever gets up afterwards for a pee and all the other things that normal human beings get up to! Maybe that would ruin the magic of the movies but epic sex scenes are just too ridiculous to me - I love the humourous side of sex in the movies - "American Pie" and the apple pie scene for example. By the way I'm no prude I just consider that sex can be fantastic (normally when the kids are away!) or an enjoyable fleeting experience (normally when the kids are in the next room), I just hate the way movies make out that sex should be the be all and end all of a relationship. Eh?

The scene of love making is at the end of this video.

My favorite is more romantic and the sexuality is more to be infered from the situation:

From "Last of the Mohicans": Hawkeye and Cora. Not one single scene, but several:

Hawkeye telling the Mohican story of creation to Cora under the stars as they fled a Huron raiding party,

His promise to find her, "no matter what occurs", that she should "stay alive, I will find you!" under the waterfall, just before he leapt off as their enemies closed in.

The stirring music as he pursues Cora's captors through the beautiful unspoiled countryside.

It`s not the same to see a sex scene between a man and a woman than between lesbians,
there´s something.......I can´t find the right word....perhaps...shame, embarrasment,
pity... I have nothing against lesbianism or other form of love, but I also prefer the
humorous and tender side of sex in movies.

Desiree, I think we're heading in the direction of 'anything goes.' Who knows, maybe the gays and lesbians will be the salvation of the human race. They seem to be sensible about having children and raising them. They either don't have children of their own, they adopt children already here, or they have only one or two of their own.

If you don't like same sex, just stick with hetero I guess.

I'm with you, Deebee. I've never had someone to adjust the lighting, stifle the unwanted noises (kids, traffic, etc.), keep the "stage" a perfect temperature, etc., etc. Making love on a sandy beach sounds fantastic... but from experience sand and salt water are poor lubricants, and that was 30 years ago when you could actually find a section of deserted beach... at 5 o'clock in the morning.

Sex in the movies, or for that matter ANYTHING in the movies, is meant to take us away from everyday life, to wrap us up in an entertaining fantasy if only for 120 minutes. If real life were like the movies, well, we wouldn't find the movies so entertaining. And then there is "pornography", which serves the same purpose but also misleads us into thinking... well, let us not go there.

Good actors are highly paid because making the ordinary and mundane seem magical and fantastic is... work.

The orchestra can prove quite expensive too.

using a current film as a sort of barometer, the 'black swan' is overlaced with sex. male-female and female female, underscored by some terrific acting.

it was interseting that even though the sex was intensive, there was virtually no nudity. you had to use your imagination to get under the covers.

Cinema Paradiso, the scene at the end of the movie is the best love scene I’ve seen in a popular movie yet...

I know it only is the collage of kissing scenes of different movies, but it stands solid in my mind.

most moving and emotional – as per my opinion.

I fully agree with you martyg. Natalie Portman´s acting is superb in the movie and though of more age, due to her innocent and naive character when involved in sex exploration it makes her even more desirable. Quite interesting to behold her trasnformation for white to black swan. Great movie!Applause
