Here in the Philippines, this is what you call "Sapin-Sapin". is a layered glutinous rice and coconut dessert in Filipino cuisine. It is made from rice flour, coconut milk, sugar, water, and coloring with coconut flakes sprinkled on top. Sapin-sapin means "layers" and the dessert is recognizable for its layers, each colored separately. It has been referred to as "a blancmange of several colored layers, sweetened and flavored with coconut milk".

Oh, Yum,

I am not going to mention about us smearing them straight onto our hips, to save all that digestion time,

Got into too much trouble last time, ha ha

"A minute in the mouth,
an hour in the stomach,
and a life time on the hips".

Baklava & a triple shot (coffee)

The name of your picture referred to blackberries but that pie seems to contain blueberries (or bilberries). Up here in the north all these berries are very common and certainly not expensive. Delicious, yes!

They look like blackberries to me. As far as I know blueberries are not used to make sweets, my dad makes vinegar with them. Blueberries surely are not expensive and I ahve no idea about blackberries.

The pie is yummyyyy !!

Look at Wiki articles:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilberry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blueberry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackberry

All used also in pies and crumbles.

This is Apple Crisp... I make it often during apple season. (Autumn) During the summer though, I make Blueberry Crisp since I have 5 Blueberry bushes... so Blueberries are sweet enough to make a dessert with... and Jam!!! Dancing

I use blueberries to make blueberry milk shake, and I love it. The next time I will prepare it, I will post a picture of it here.

Vickster, this thread is sweet, and we all should keep it running.

Blackberry cobbler, anyone? So sweet and doughy, and the seeds give it crunch. A big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is divine.

Runeberg's tarts are typically eaten only in Finland and are generally available from the beginning of January to Runeberg's birthday on February 5. The tart is seasoned with almonds and rum and it usually weighs about 100 grams. There is usually raspberry jam in a sugar ring on the tart.
