Some posts in forums have already written about Grammargeek's decision to leave Freedelfia. People are chocked.
I received an email last Friday from GG in which she told to be totally fed up with TFD and some people jumping down her throat.
She said she does not need that shit in her life. No exact pointing to any particular thread or post. I had to interpret that on my own.

"That shit" being not only the last few weeks endless mischievous debates, where GG had no part at all, but also couple of threads in K&C and S&T where more personal malice were thrown in GG's eyes.

I'm not innocent myself being sometimes nasty while trying to be witty. If Peter, Kisholoy and me are having a virile argue of nonsense we more or less insult each other and are ready to accept twice what we "give". But being nasty to some innocent bystander is unforgivable. Some of us have really made GG to feel REALLY bad.

I wanted to wait a couple of days before announcing GG's decision because I thought and hoped she might retract. Now few days have gone. I have seen she's been here, last time this evening. So, now I wanted to write this to tell you all we have knocked out our MOST esteemed member with our lousy behaviour. GG has been helpful, knowledgeable, emphatic, soulful and endearing friend in this forum. Do we really want to loose her?

I humbly ask you Grammargeek to have mercy on us and come back. We need you.

All of you other Freedelfian brothers and sisters and those none specified; if you agree with me in this case add your signature or sympathetic agreement after this post.

We really miss you, GG!

We must collect a quorum
To beg, "Don't quit the forum!"
If jerks still cause dolorum,
"Bug off!" we'll so implore 'em!
(Perhaps we should ignore 'em).

[See? GG's gone 5 minutes and the rhyming atrocity begins. Please come back before I post verse 2 (in Brit-speak)]

I wonder if a site feature that allowed people to ignore certain posters might help?

We are losing too many good people, I think admin definitely needs to install the "ignore member" function. Most forum software I know of has this ability. I didn't see any of the posts at issue, but that just attests to my decreased participation here. It would be a great shame for GG to depart, she is one of the most helpful to people with technical language questions.
Wake up admin!

Trust me to be last in finding out all the goss.

Can it possibly be true that GG is leaving the Forum?

What and leave us all alone????

GG if you are reading this post, in Australian Wool/Shearing Sheds, the shearers have a coded message.

Not so coded as I broke the code when I was 7 yrs old.

"Ducks on the Pond" would be called out amongst them.

Translation= A Lady has entered the shed, stepped on the boards etc.

When ever you entered a conversation, I always felt like yelling "Ducks on the Pond"

Translation again= That an Aussie compliment.

Don't go GG, don't gooooooo

I have not been a member of this forum for long, may be a month or two but I have certainly been here long enough to know that GG is one of the most insightful and knowledgable members this forum has. It would be a real shame if a few people with a nasty mouth (or the urgency to be nasty) would cause you GG to leave this place. We need you - please ignore the nasties!

Do what you want GG. Id thought of leaving too. Too much bitching and boring, dumb discussions these days anyway. But most of us will miss you.

I was wondering too, when GG was not around to play games :-)
One thing that really helps, not only on this forum but everywhere is knowing when to respond and when to ignore.
GG, if you will go I will surely miss playing games with you, and ofcourse your other insightful posts. ;-)

GG, I understand and respect your decision. However, you have been of great help here to many like me and we need you badly. We all celebrated and partied at your hit of 10,000 posts. Didn’t we? We want to celebrate more with you. Please consider.

Jeez, I alway forget to look in site features.
I haven't been around that long but you get to know what certain contributors are like, and I like GG. I've said it before, I understand your reasons for leaving GG, and it sad to see someone like you leave.
When banter becomes mud throwing the boys should take it outside and not lash out at others. It goes too far and I think administration should take measures.
Come on back GG.

Well that's dismaying news. Like all forums, this one goes through waves of greater and lesser quality of postings, and waxing and waning standards of goodwill and reason. I sometimes lose interest and have come close to writing the whole thing off. But the occasional core-subject-grammatical question that GG would handle with authority was always worth reading.

I'm thinking I'm the C of K&C since km and I are often at loggerheads.d'oh! If this is true and it is unpleasant to others, I resign. Easy enough for me to ignore km and not get caught up in semantics with him.

GG, you are more important to this forum than I. Please come back.

To everyone else, if my posts have been lacking in respect and consequence, I apologize.

I've been thinking about this and I KNOW I don't get personal with my posts. I do disagree often though. I think I misinterpreted JJ's use of initials. What I thought was K&C (km & Cat) was really meant to be Knowledge & Culture. Which is why I couldn't figure out who S&T were.

So, I think I misunderstood JJ's post but I still apologize if I've been out of line.

What a classy lady.

GG, if you read this, I have to say that I also understand and respect your decision (sorry lenam for stealing your wording). We cannot force you to come back if it ruins your mood. In fact, as a mere mortal, it feels wrong to me to even ask. But you have to know that you are definitely one of the most helpful and esteemed member here, and your presence already is missed.

I would also think a function to ignore certain members would be a good feature.

You're much missed GG, if you're reading this thread please give a thought to coming back. I hope I'm not one of those who caused you distress, but if I am then I'm truly sorry and I didn't mean to do it.

After creating that lovely silk-jersey Toga with the Gold chain belt!

The coronet of Holly and what ever, all will be wasted now!

Nothing left but a Pre-Loved Fashion Range.

I certainly hope this thread will make us all think twice before being rude to others. Discussions are fine but they do tend to get a little out of hand sometimes.
Grammargeek is not the first we've lost. But it seems to be the first with an explanation for the exit.
