In the children's movie Ramona and Beezus, there is an episode. The teacher and the students are at a lesson. Through the window, they see a girl from their class, who needs help. The teacher says to the students, "Quiet. Face front. Eyes forward. Lock it down." Then she rushes outside to help, slamming the classroom door. All the children rush to the window to watch.
What can "Lock it down" mean? It is unlikely that she tells them to lock the classroom door, as, first, it hasn't been locked before and, second, no student tries to lock it after the teacher leaves.

It all happens at the third minute of the movie, and maybe this link works in your countries:

It might mean "maintain the position I've just described" (Quiet. Face front. Eyes forward.), i.e. "once you're quiet and facing forward, remain so until my return", which - of course - they didn't.

I think RAznag's got the sense of it, Hj. "Lock it down" has become an authoritative idiom meaning to hold one's ground and not move. Sometimes, people even use it to mean "shut up," another idiom, one you're probably familiar with.

Well thank the gods we sorted that out!

If anyone had barked at me in A Situation to "Lock it down" I would have been the one turning round vaguely searching for some sort of lock. And thus getting killed in the first ten minutes.
