Wow. Real schoolyard stuff.
Sounds like stamina is the decider. And a bit of luck.

Ah, almost.
But a good game is the prize, isn't it.
Well done all.

(including Britain who won one match and had some close results, I think.)

It has become a bit of a closed shop, hasn't it. Same old names year after year.

I think it's time for some new blood.

Go Pakistan!

The women on the other hand, I don't think they are ready for the world Cup yet. A bit of practice needed.

(I'm not taking the mickey. I genuinely wish them well. Enjoy your sports, wherever you are, whatever you play with, and whatever your skills!)

And that scenery sure as hell beats looking at the inside of an arena! Applause

They sure seemed to enjoy. Pakistan isn't a member of IIHF, but looking at these videos they might soon be.

This year's champs showed that it's not bad to have 16 teams in first division tournament. Almost every day at least one of the "bigs" got beaten by some underdog. That's sports.

Go Kuwait!

EDIT:

There are five levels in IIHF tournamens, World Championship Games, I division, II division, III division, and IV divisiom. The division are divided into two groups, except the IV.

Finns were prepared to celebrate gold, but took everything out from the silver, too.

As a Canadian, I feel a need to apologise for our very late-blooming team having defeated Finland. Starting with the loss to Latvia, followed by two more losses, I (and most other Canadians) didn't expect them to advance to the quarter finals, let alone win it all!

No need to apologize. We'll see next year ;-)
