Should "Some" be in lower case? Options

He wrote that the problem recurs so regularly that “Some residents would even go as far as to use the stairs if they had an important meeting to attend, for fear of being trapped in a malfunctioning elevator.”

Should "Some" be in lower case instead?

If this is a sentence from some other writing ("Some residents..."), then the capital S in "Some" is OK, but it would be much better if your sentence went "...so regularly that '[s]ome residents...." The brakets [] are placed around the lower-case letter ‘s’ to indicate that the letter case has been changed.
