Hi,

Can "judging from" be used to introduce a speculation as follows?


A: What was the outcome of the race?
B: I'm not sure who won, but judging from John's track record, I suppose his time was the fastest.

I'd appreciate your help.

Yes, you can use it this way. It simply means you are using your past experience or knowledge to make a decision.
