One mob had been sent on a mission to kill. The others were protesters with some violent people on both sides - so absolutely no comparison.

FounDit must have missed this update:

"We’re now learning what Brian Murphy, the former acting chief of the Department of Homeland Security’s intelligence office, told Congress in closed hearings Friday and Monday. Murphy filed a whistleblower complaint on September 8 alleging that Chad Wolf, the acting DHS chief, told him to “blame Far Left groups in an exaggerated fashion” for violence during summer protests in Portland, Oregon."

These are private companies who can say they will not allow the inciting of sedition on their platforms. That is not free speech. Nor is hate speech. The companies have rules and if anybody does not follow them they are tossed out.

Trump was given so much latitude over the years that any other ordinary person would have been banned forthwith.

I didn't hear anybody complain about their rules before now. Nor did I complain when shut down for three days when asked the question, "What should Trump do now?" and I smart assedly replied, "Drop dead". I was not advocating any violence towards him. He was just to eat another Big Mac and have his own arteries complain.

This is the same principle as that private companies do not have to allow just any old body into their physical place of business - i.e. any old body or young body that refuses to wear a mask on their property.

Iconic symbol of Trump, his followers, and his presidency.

Well look at that! I've been feeling like that for four years.

But Republicans don't want to unify. And many anti Trump people say they do not want to unify with those who committed or enabled sedition. I get that.

For there to be healing the surgery has to be done - stil have to remove the cancerous tumour.

Directly above sign taken out of context. As usual.

Kristen Clark: The book, she said, “was generating wide acclaim for its racist views” and her intention in opening the letter “with an absurd claim that Black people are superior based on the melanin in their skin” was to “hold up a mirror to reflect how reprehensible the premise of black inferiority was set.”

“It was meant to express an equally absurd point of view — fighting one ridiculous absurd racist theory with another ridiculous absurd theory,” Clarke explained, “and the goal was all about [exposing] the ugly racist underpinnings of the Bell Curve theory. It was deeply personal and profoundly important to Black students and other students of color who felt that their right to be on campus was challenged. And frankly, the fight that we were leading as students is a fight that I am still very much a part of today.”

Freedom comes at a price!
Free speech comes at the price of responsibility and accountability.
Unchallenged hate speech and vitriol (spread faster and more comprehensively than the writers of the constitution could possibly have imagined) is a more dangerous and pernicious threat to freedom than anything else.
Your issue, and the issue of other radical conservatives, is that you only read and listen to media that you know will be in accord with what you believe (or want to believe). you reject any opposing viewpoint and avoid listening to any cogent arguement agianst your ingrained opinions. For example, when did you last realize that any opinions you held dear, were wrong and changed your mind? Ever?

For example, I don't like Trump, but I don't think his speech in DC formented the invasion of the Capitol. Clearly, this incursion was pre-planned and organized; something that Trump is incapable of.

I find it beautifully ironic how FounDit freely posts/complains about free speech attacks.

Unfortunately, that irony is lost on them.

Towan,

You are correct that this was organized online but with his help.

With carefully coded insinuations, with the stirring up with patriotism in his speech, Trump was playing a dangerous game and it backfired.

Besides, he had the Proud Boys to the WH the week before. They got their orders then.

True. Along with 50% of the people who take the California Bar exam who also failed it on their first attempt.
