is it just me? I can't play Drag0's original link for Jealousy ... blocked by the BBC for copyright reasons ... ugh ... sounded interesting

The BBC is a strange corporation.

Some things can't be played within the UK, but can be seen elsewhere; other thing can be seen here but not abroad.

All supposedly because of 'copyright'.

Try searching "Grappelli Menuhin Jealousy" or "Grappelli Menuhin Parkinson", there are a few different 'uploads' on YouTube.
One of them, I know just shows a few 'clips' and is mainly interview (interesting, but not music) - but you should find one which works for you.

You could also look for Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grappelli, if you like that sort of thing.

I just came back to this thread - it has been neglected . . .

Here is the original post link from a different source. It works for me.

Some examples of "mixed media"--classical and jazz mixed--that I've enjoyed are the Swingle Singers, and "Jazz Guitar Bach"--played on the electric guitar by Andre Benichou and his Well-Tempered Three.

Glad you enjoyed it.

The thing which really made me 'sit up' was in the interview with Yehudi Menuhin (another video), he says that he just couldn't do what Grappelli did.
When I was young, if you said "You know - that famous violinist" anyone would know you meant Menuhin. He was "THE violinist" - and here he is saying how he couldn't even imitate it.
He had to practice, and write out his part and learn it. Grappelli just played what he felt fitted in, not a set, practiced piece.

When I get a chance I'll try to reconstruct some of my posts between 2012 and 2017 - and I know JJ and thar posted some great examples, too! Shame it's all disappeared.

Thanks, Drago!

Got to see it on this link - brought a lump to my throat to hear such talent!

More please!

(Just took a peek at Red Hot Chili Peppers - not my cup of tea either in music or to eat them. Whistle I'll show it to my husband later and see what he thinks.)

Ah! There are a couple of letters different.

This is not the Red Hot Chilli Peppers - it's the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
