It is a nice cathedral - and has stayed impressive as it was meant to be because Lincoln is not that big or full of tall buildings.

This style of design is still awe-inspiring, both inside and out. At the time of its innovation it must have been mind-blowing.

On this day May 9, 1092 Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Minster, or the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln and sometimes St Mary's Cathedral, was consecrated. The building of the cathedral at Lincoln had commenced in 1072 just six years after the Norman conquest and twenty years before its consecration.

Impressive, although associated with those nasty Normans and their chief, William the bastard.
