In my neck of the woods, the express is simply "be home", as in, as soon as I find one more reference, I"ll be home.

The hosed part is unheard of.

Home and dry means safe (out of the storm) - job completed and danger averted.


home and hosed means horse is already back in the yard, hosed down, dried off and back in his stall. Job done.
