Opportunities flit by while we sit regretting the chances we have lost, and the happiness that comes to us we heed not, because of the happiness that is gone.

Yes, that is absolutely true. Actually, it is a fact that most people live and cherish the past. Of course, if we do not take the past into consideration, we can't make much progress, but we should never lose sight of the present.

Don't let those opportunities flit by and then you won't regret it. Some people say it's never too late, but if you miss all the opportunities it may be.

The happiness can be read as the basis or "yardstick" of comparison not only for the loss of the expectation of the life but for the loss of a limb or any body faculty.

1859–1927, English humorist and playwright. His Idle Thoughts of an Idle Fellow (1886) and Three Men in a Boat (1889) gave him his reputation for genial humor. Of his dramatic works, The Passing of the Third Floor Back (1907), a contemporary morality play, was the most famous.

Yeah. Happiness is always ahead for young, and behind for old. And it has nothing to do with age, gender or income, though it’s so tempting to think otherwise. Amen.
