Liberty Monument in Seychelles

Liberty Monument is located at 5th June Avenue, Seychelles. On June 29 of 2014 the old liberty statue was changed to a new bronze statue. President James Michel inaugurated this function on the Independence Day. The new liberty statue was a bronze one made by tom bowers, a South African sculpture. It depicts a man and a woman holding over their heads the national flag of Seychelles. This statue is a historic monument of Seychelles having a history dating back to the independence of Seychellois people from British colony. The old liberty statue was the original one, which was erected as a memory of independence of Seychelles. They called this original statue as ZONM LIB, which means free man in English. Zonm lib was erected in 1978. Lot of tourist visit this monument in Victoria and take photos.
