Topic: gag reflex
Posted: Tuesday, May 12, 2015 9:30:10 AM
to Romany:

thanx for answer.
reflux and reflex are very similar words and not only in writing form but also in the meaning- core of the word.

latin language used in medicine has similar words as some or a lot of international words.

international words are similar in various languages or have similar word core.

Hi,

according to my information the gag reflex is when a meal you have eaten returns to your throat into your mouth.
in the medicine it is called gastroesofageal reflux.

Topic: Why is it Wharhol's Campbell tin so important?
Posted: Wednesday, January 21, 2015 2:39:03 AM
to everyone:

i have read about this topic a few books, and i have visited the traditionaĺ and modern galleries to compare the old paintings and modern fine art.

there are various streams of the fine art, not only old paintings form the period of reinessance or gothic...
there exists also moderna, postmoderna and antimoderna where belongs expresionism, cubism, fauvism, and also mentioned pop art with the Campbell soup tin.

the core of the old paintings - the basic sense and goal/ focus was to explain and to show the beauty, but later- after year 1900 it was about the communication - what does the artist tell to the public and it was not only beauty, but also awfull things, to which he wanted to pay attention - the politics critisizing the war and other senses...

the decorative sense of old paintings focusing on the beauty are already dead, not actual.

Hello RogerMue,

Lessing---he may be Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, the writer...

The sentence you have mentioned, it can be about men and women:

there were written many books about men that have come from Mars and women that have come from Venus...
maybe he has thought the men from Mars and women from Venus in this quotation.

but is is only my suggestion, i have never read this quotation in any book.

They got into the car at around nine o clock....it is correct. it means, that they were in the car at nine o clock.

they got in the car at around nine o clock....it is incorrect, wrong.

in the car means that THEY ARE still in the car.
into the car means the PROCESS OF ENTRANCE to the car.

have a nice day
