Shouldn't omit "the" before fish? for some reason the sound of "the fish" does not feel right.

Should be: The price of fish is high.

Hola..

Habiendo vivido ya mas de la mitad de mi vida adulta en Estados Unidos, te dire que aqui la gente es muy conciente de su espacio personal, fisico y elemental. El Americano tipico siempre saluda con "Como estas" o How you doing? pero lo dicen sin esperar que te pares a platicarles exactamente como estas? Es solo un formulismo, muy indicativo de la costumbre de saludar. Como respuesta, solo esperan otro "Hello" o mas comun un Hi, fine and you? es todo.

Sin embargo, con el influjo de personas de otras culturas de los ultimos 30 años, y por muchas otras razones, esta costumbre del Americano va desapareciendo en las ciudades, sin embargo, todavia la encuentras vigente en algunos lugares.

Al Americano, no le gusta que lo abraces, que le des beso en la mejilla, ni un apreton de mano. Ellos tienen una funcion especial para cada uno de esos gestos expresivos. Y creeme, estos no se ofrece en ocasiones de un mero saludo....

Creo que es algo de lo primero que aprendes cuando vives aqui.

Ambas expresiones son correctas. El contexto es lo que determina la aplicacion correcta.

Si lo que buscas es un pais hermoso donde aprender el idioma, tienes muchas opciones. Solo hay que tener en cuenta que donde vayas, aprenderas un Español diferente, ya que cada pais ha adoptado palabras y modismos como propios.

Te sugiero leer a escritores de renombre de cada pais; como Fuentes de Mexico o mejor aun; Octavio Paz, Vargas Llosa de Peru, Borges de Argentina ( y estoy segura ya tienes la idea!) y asi determines por el estilo del lenguaje hacia donde te diriges.

Tal es la riqueza, abundancia y esplendidez de nuestro Idioma.

Where Mak_786 has included Hindi versions, I have run them through the Google translator service and found them to be different from the English versions provided. In fact, it is the differences that I sometimes find more meaningful than either version alone might be.
