Topic: "must have been"
Posted: Wednesday, May 30, 2012 3:35:32 AM
Anadilim Turkce olmasina ragmen Ingilizcede kullandigimiz bazi kaliplari Turkce'de ifade etmekte zorlaniyorum. Bence 'must have been' Turkce'de en dogru sekilde 'olmus olmali' seklinde cevrilebilir, ancak kulaga da oldukca tuhaf geliyor.

Bu durumda "I must have been tired" cumlesini Turkcede "yorgun olmaliyim" seklinde mi ifade ederiz?

Thank you Drag0nspeaker for your response. But what if I am not really sure what I want? I usually write "I was wondering whether I can .... / whether .... is possible".

I think my question should be more like "how can can I ask a question in a polite way?"

I was also wondering the uses of "I was wondering". Can you suggest me any similar phrases that I can use in formal letters?
