Topic: enjoy your spring
Posted: Sunday, July 02, 2017 9:28:15 PM
As one living in the southern hemisphere I have told someone in the northern hemisphere to "enjoy your summer".

Even here in Aust the seasons that are experienced in the tropics are very different those in the temperate zone. So a conversation about autumn between an aunt (in the tropics) and myself went something like:
Me: I think autumn is the nicest time - cool nights and clear sunny days.
Aunt: My <experience of> autumn is muggy and wet.

I quite like "wasted me two hours". It's a bit quirky but it appeals to me.

Compare to: I was really hassled with only one day to get everything packed and moved; Sue saved me two hours by packing up the kitchen bitsn.

I know I'm using something like sophistry here, by using 'saved' as the opposite of 'wasted'.

Thoughts? . . .

Q: They tell me Trump is to be president - what do you make of that?

A: Tomorrow, tomorrow, I'll love you tomorrow.

My apologies - boy oh boy, did I get that wrong!

Note to self: Do homework before posting.

@Axel - your post doesn't make sense to me, but seeing as my post (to which you were resonding) was wrong I guess that's fair. :)

Hi all,
I know that the first time his name was mentioned it contained a typo but the same post showed Alan's name spelt correctly three more times.

It's Turin not Turing.

@DragOn - Ha! Sad to say, I barely registered that it was Cup Day. I didn't even know the favourites, and I'm a Melbournian. I normally take a ticket or two in the office sweep but even that failed to happen this year. We're falling apart down here!!

We shall have to ask Tov how the race went as I didn't see it either.

Did you watch it from your side of the planet?
