I can't imagine being in that state for 23 years and not losing my mind entirely. Talk about a premise for a horror movie!
Amazingly, this man's mother knew that he was not in a vegetative state, despite what doctors consistently told her, and she continued to fight for her son, taking him for numerous tests until she proved he was aware and conscious.

I can't imagine being the husband left behind after that. There must be such a terrible feeling of guilt. What an unnecessary tragedy.

I love The Secret Garden, but I must admit that I have never read Little Lord Fauntleroy. What is the premise of the latter?

This news item reminds me of the young boy recently who called the police after some neighborhood kids came and stole his dad's bicycle. In retalliation, the boys doused him in a flammable liquid and lit him on fire. He survived but was terribly burned. If doctors could use his own body's cells to generate new skin for him, I'm sure it would improve the quality of his life exponentially.

My uncle used to use the Doctor Who character as the basis for the children's stories he would tell me and all my cousins. For my wedding, he and my aunt gave me a DVD of the actual, original show. Having never seen the Doctor Who that had been built up to this heroic, adventure-seeking being in my childhood imagination, I was super-excited to finally see what all the hype was about. Well, when I finally watched it, I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry or to fall asleep. I think I did a little of all three. What a disappointment! All I have to say is, kudos to the TV and film industry for improving the art of effects so considerably in less than half a century. And kudos to my uncle for turning lemons into lemonade!

Ahhhh, so a rucksack must be a sack meant to contain "a crowd especially of ordinary or undistinguished...things," or, as I like to think of it, a bag to hold all my cr*p.

Better late than never, I guess. Hopefully this ruling will help some of the victims rebuild their lives.
