What does this sentence from Shakira's song (Estoy aquí) mean?

"Cambiándome un pie por la cara mía"

Topic: Doubt: "years of age"?

Hey, guys!

I read the expression "He was fifteen years of age" at a book and I found that very strange. Wouldn't it be correct to say "fifteen years old"? Is "years of age" an expression more related to spoken language or to both spoken and written languages?
