Topic: Help with reading a tombstone
Posted: Monday, September 26, 2016 4:39:27 PM
Ok, I've managed this so far:

1st & 2nd lines:

"Our dear father and upright man of religion and commandments".

3rd & start of 4th:

"Rabbi lion Leib son of Jacob Kapil".

Leib is a Yiddish name which means lion. So, "lion Leib" is simply the name in both Hebrew and Yiddish, as well possibly being a play on words.

I'm lost with the rest of it.

Is that right & can anyone help to complete this?

I wonder if anyone here can help with deciphering the tombstone at this link:

Louis Bersansky

All I need to know is whether the Hebrew text says anything more than the English text (such as his father's name).
