Topic: Voy pal cielo y voy pateando
Posted: Wednesday, October 31, 2018 4:02:17 PM
1) "pal" = colloquial/slang version of "para el" meaning "to the"
2) pateando = walking (I think, not sure, even I'm spanish speaker -Argentine-)
3) It think the full meaning of "Voy pal cielo y voy pateando" would be "I'm going to Heaven and I'm going walking"
Regards
David

Hi!

This is a part of Shakira's song "Me enamore":

(Voy pal cielo y voy pateando)

1- I've searched everywhere for the meaning of "pal" in Spanish but didn't find it!
2- Voy Pateando, means literally "go kicking" but apparently it has something to do with happiness. Can you explain it?
3- What is the figurative speech achieved by this sentense?
