What I dislike most about this article is the number of times the word "could" is used. "Could" is not science. Instead the article impresses a link which may or may not exist. However, reader's are left with the impression that the link exists.

Study 1: Specifically, 22% of those who had depression went on to develop dementia compared to 17% of those who did not have depression.
That's not much of a difference.
Study 2: Having two or more episodes of depression nearly doubled the risk of dementia.
So how high would that risk actually be, absolutely instead of relatively? Why don't they just link to the damn studies so we don't have to go on sensational sentences.
The opposite of hatred is love; the opposite of tyranny is love; the opposite of censorship is love; the opposite of evil is love; the opposite of politics is love; the opposite of war is love; the opposite of god is love.–– Salman Rushdie Broadly speaking, it is held that getting money is good and spending money is bad. Seeing that they are two sides of one transaction, this is absurd; one might as well maintain that keys are good, but keyholes are bad. Real science tends to be tedious, tedium is a destroyer of ratings.

So pretty much, I'm doomed to be demented. Charming.
