(noun) One who wastes, especially one who wastes money; an idler or a loafer.

Synonyms: prodigal, profligate

Usage: Despite his parents' best efforts to teach him responsibility, Sam grew up to be a wastrel who squandered his entire fortune.

Prodigal. It reminds me prodigal son in this biblical text his father give him another chance. But, when we often think about a second chance, we say to ourselves "Why or Why not?". The question must be: Who in life does not deserve a second chance?

I have known many that would be considered wastrel, sadly some are still alive today.
