Zebroids: Zonies and Zeedonks to Name a FewBred since the 19th century, zebroids are zebra hybrids—crosses between zebras and any other equid, or horse-like animal. Zebroids physically resemble their non-zebra parent but are striped like a zebra, though typically only on a portion of their body. Hybrids are generally named using a combination of the parent animals' names. Genetics are a fascinating subject with horses.
I bought a pony for my daughter, he was a Timor pony with Zebra marking on the back of his legs. Also the donkey mark of the cross over the shoulders and down the spine. A Taffy coloured pony and quite wonderful. The strange thing was his full brother was fully black. So obviously a throwback to his early ancestors.

Perhaps we will end up with animals straight out of “If I Ran the Zoo" by Dr. Seuss. We could have Obsks, Bippo-No-Bungus, a Tizzle-Top-Tufted Mazurka, the helicopter bug, the hen that roosts in the top of each other, and an Elephant-Cat.

I've always wondered why zebras look the way they do. Unlike many other animals, their stripes do not seem to lend them any camouflage advantage. In fact, the stripes only make them seem to stand out more.
