What about the uncountable mistakes like "one and only"? Discount it?

I think we differ in our opinions of what constitutes 'well adjusted'.

That doesn't make life easier though, mistakes are mistakes and are rarely favorable.

The second time it is not considered a mistake any more, but ...!

A person who is not getting nervous by making the same mistake twice is a person who doesn't give a damn. Applause This person has been around the block as they say.

Excellent quote and right on the mark. But, of course if that same mistake is made a third time, tis best to reassess ones thought process & work habits.

What an amazing man. To come from such a back ground in those times and become such successful well educated man is incredible. It would even be difficult to do today with education more available to all.

On the face of it, what the quotation seems to intimate is unmistakable: calmness will always carry the day.Applause

It is doubtful that Hamilton said this, but not entirely impossible.

After all, he was cool as a cucumber when he said: "A national debt, if it is not excessive, will be to us a national blessing."

I do not think it is wrong to get nervous when you make a mistake, let alone after making the second one

What's more, I believe that precisely because you are well adjusted and responsible enough, you feel like that and it is that healthy feeling that will enable you to
be more careful in the future and make fewer mistakes

There is no good reason on earth to be afraid of mistakes, mistakes are part and parcel of the learning process.- A toddler learns to walk after lots and lots of nasty falls
