The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal in Agra, India, is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world and the finest example of the late style of Indian Islamic architecture. When was the monument's construction begun?

The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen

So Shah Jahan didn't plan to build a black marble copy on the other side of the river! I've heard this myth on documentaries! You can't trust anyone! Not talking

No doubt, everyone involved in the project did the great job. I dream to be at Taj Mahal and pay tribute to its builder as well as architects and artists

As an artist that was also trained as a builder/cabinetmaker I truly respect the craftsmanship that went into the construction of this structure. It is a shame that much of the schooling and also desire to learn those trades has been lost...let's hope some will be inspired to learn those techniques and create similar projects, but on a somewhat smaller format.

Every time I read an article about the Taj Mahal, I can't help but remember the photograph of Princess Diana sitting on the bench alone looking so sad.
