Itching to Take a Selfie

A Russian government agency is blaming the selfie craze for the spread of head lice and advising young people to abstain from the practice to protect themselves. It says group selfies, which typically require the individuals involved to squeeze close together to fit into a photo, have become the primary pathway for the critters to jump from host to host. While it is conceivable that a person carrying lice could inadvertently spread them to others in this manner, many find the notion that this is the leading cause of the parasite's spread to be suspect and have taken to social media to mock the assertion (and the agency behind it). Russian authorities are growing increasingly paranoid. They hate everything that comes from the West - selfies, McDonald's burgers, Internet, and so on. They are not much different from North Korean isolationist regime with its Ju Che. Russian officials cannot even understand that by making such ridiculous statements, they admit that in the 21st century they still have lots of dirty, lousy citizens in their towns and cities.

Make every post as if it was the first one in the thread.

I just can't fathom their thinking, but the ads on this site are strangely spot-on with the topic.

Our prime minister Tony Abbott said he was going to 'shirt front' Putin when he come down here to the G20, and there was hell to pay for his Aussie speech.

This is over the bombing of the Malaysian passenger airliner, shot down by Russian rebels with a Russian weapon.

The Russian media went berserk over this affront to their great man.

Tony Abbott is an ex rugby union, boxing champ, marathon riding and generally a pretty fit bloke, as opposed to Putin's photo-ops.

To 'shirt front' some one is to get some one by the shirt and have an up front look at them, eye to eye.

Hay there, you got'a love the ingenuity and creative thought process of those Russians. Wow, not even the CIA, NSA or FBI are that creative, unless you look at the FBI's era under the "cross-dresser" Hoover; now there was a fellow with the imagination to rival Russia's.
