Thank you LRai for you post,

The Lunar Eclipse is also referred to as a Red Moon and as Blood Moon. October 8th is the second Red Moon and there are two in 2015 (see chart below). These days are recorded in the Book of Revelation, they are recorded in the Old Testament also and they are in God's Calendar — the are signs of His returning. It will be visible for about 80 minutes, beginning at sunrise.

1st RED MOON - Passover - March 19, 2014
2nd RED MOON -Tabernacle - October 8, 2014
ECLIPSE- March 20, 2015 - RELIGIOUS NEW YEAR
3rd RED MOON - Passover - April 4, 2015
4th RED MOON - Tabernacle - September 28. 2015
Mathew 24:29

Excaelis,

It's happening TOMORROW....you didn't miss a thing....the question is "Do you care?"........if you do, your sun rises 24 min. later than in New York, around 7:29am, so you get a little more sleep time.

No, you did not miss the event Excaelis !
This event should occur Wednesday (tomorrow, for your time-zone). i.e., still between 4 hrs to 5 hrs from now!!

I've been checking it out this morning, although, not the "impossible" part, as sunrise isn't for another hour or so. Still, it's pretty cool.

It was BEAUTIFUL! Last night as I headed home, the moon looked especially large. It almost seemed the moon, itself, wanted us to pay attention to the big "star" of the next big show! ; )
I grabbed my 11 year old (couldn't get the 13 year old out of bed!) and we watched the magic taking place as the celestial bodies all moved into place. It is magnificent and a reminder of our insignificance. I am not one to believe that any of it has anything to do with a second coming, prophecy of doom, or otherwise. For me, the beauty lies in the reminder of how vast the universe is and our "pale blue dot."

Here's a wonderful video -

A friend of mine once told me a story:

Quote:

My translation:

Quote:
Once I woke up at 2 in the morning and went out to tinkle a bit and to see the Moon. And there's something unusual in the seeming of the crescent. But what - I do not get! I began to reason - the lit part should be facing the Sun. And the Sun, at 2 a.m. Moscow time, is exactly to the North and somewhere beneath. The Moon at that time was right in the South. That is, within reason, it must be Full Moon. And it kind of was - a day or two ago. But what I see is a small crescent with the bright side somewhere to the West and up. Thinks I, what's the matter?
While I was thinking the crescent became even smaller and of a strange colour. And it dawned on me - a big thingy came from far away so big that it hid the Moon from the Sun. I was very much saddened by the sudden end of the world - and what good could be from a blob with a diameter of 5000 km - and then I got it, that's the shadow of the Earth, and the phenomenon is an ordinary lunar eclipse, which I almost missed with all that garden work.

In my part of the west coast, we are having balmy weather. We were over 50 (F); 10 (C) yesterday. Our problem will be the probable cloud cover.
