Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Is Launched (1970)

PBS is an American non-profit, private corporation that provides its members—public television stations—with educational, cultural, and news programs. The network is supported by public funds and private contributions rather than commercials. Its popular programs, produced by its member stations and other independent program producers, have included Sesame Street, Masterpiece Theatre, and Nova. Sesame Street, Electric Company, Dick Cavett, Nova, Nature, This Old House. PBS has been, is and always will be what American TV should be. They have fought off attacks from the right wing political extremists for decades and are still alive and kicking.

The best American thing since sliced bread.

Probably one of the most outstanding acts in American history, Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Is Launched (1970)...And would you believe, the rabid, vile and filth-ridden republican party wants to do away with PBS. And why not, as it speaks the truth and can not be bought like the other networks. Ah, isn't America a great country......,.,.,
