"To Flee from Memory" by Emily Dickinson

To flee from memory
Had we the Wings
Many would fly
Inured to slower things
Birds with surprise
Would scan the cowering Van
Of men escaping
From the mind of man.

"Doctors become inured to death." And artists become 'inured' to critics and laymen's uneducated comments.... :-)

Your hair fell in a tangle about your face, and it was only when I had pushed it back that I could at last make out your features in the growing light. It was not an inured but interesting lively face that met my gaze; aristocratic, yet soft and womanly ... feeling shy really???? my Love Daemon thanks
