$1 Billion Needed to Fight Ebola

With the Ebola outbreak in West Africa still uncontained, the UN is increasing its calls for funding in the fight against the epidemic from $100 million just a month ago to $1 billion today. This health crisis, the World Health Organization's assistant director-general says, is "unparalleled in modern times," with thousands infected thus far and the number of cases projected to double every three weeks if containment efforts are not stepped up. According to the president of the medical charity Doctors Without Borders, the response to the outbreak has been insufficient thus far and the window of opportunity to contain the outbreak is closing. The implications of this disease are truly gruesome! If such an outbreak occurred in the western world, every imaginable method to stop its spread would be immediately implemented, but because it is in Africa, the western world stands by and watches--so they don't get it. How SICK is THAT???

Extemely sick, but not a lot of profit for the west, so don't expect a great deal of investment.

"$1 billion needed." How about instead whoever's receiving the money stops being so stingy because LIVES are at stake?

Make every post as if it was the first one in the thread.

Could it be that the Western Christian segment of this planet is treating this as a manifestation of the prediction of St John the Divine in the Holy Bible(Book of Revelations) that some thirty-three and a third of the Terran Earth Humanity must be culled in fullfillment of the prophesied Apocalypse? The solution to the Ebola is not as hard as some would have us believe since there is a dearth of excellent, but very expensive botanicals that may be engaged against this terrible scourge of MAN. Also, what of COLLOIDAL SILVER which has been touted as a literal 'Cure All' when it comes to micrororganisms including bacteria, and viruses. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is normally an expensive niche market specialisation in the Major Metropolitan Countries which could be employed along with a botanical cocktail prepared from Terran Earth's most powerful antibiotic herbs/botanicals to stop Ebola in it's tracks. It is expensive but it can be done! My conscience is clear! I have proposed a solution instead of sitting back on the fence wringing my hands. I do not have the RESOURCES for IMPLEMENTATION but I could spearhaed a team to approach tackling the challenge if funds were voted for me to do the job.To whom will that $1 Billion go?

Unfortunately once this reaches the US, it will spread like wildfire. Evevthough we have among the best sanitation facilities in the world, our actual practices will doom us to extinction! So much for being a world power.
