Low Back Pain: Paracetamol No Better than Placebo

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol and other common over-the-counter pain medicines, is no better than a placebo when it comes to reducing acute low back pain or shortening recovery time. Currently, paracetamol is universally recommended as the first-line analgesic for low back pain, but these recent findings suggest that this approach should be reevaluated and perhaps revised. One might ask why this had not been realised before - the answer is in the article.

1. "costs relating to the condition are estimated to be more than $100 billion a year."
Mostly being paid to MDs and drug companies, I should guess.

2. "the study at the University of Sydney in Australia."
Not by a research team from the Johnson-Pfizer-Glaxo-Klyne-Smith-Roche conglomerate.

PS Early apex - I can send you a supply of placebo for only a half of what the drug-companies would charge for paracetamol,

Money,money!!
Laboratories must pay a heavy compensation to each person who trust them and was victim of this "cheating", so they would stop using humans as guinea pigs, using unscrupulous human lives, thinking only on money.

Shame on you

Always aggressively investigate side effects.

Look into an anti-inflammatory diet (eat moderate amounts of macronutrient balanced nutritious real food, avoid industrial carbs), minimize toxin intake, minimize pro-inflammatory industrial edible oils (use organic EVOO cold, grass fed butter, organic coconut oil hot).

Also look into high dose, high quality anti-inflammatory fish oil supplementation. If it isn't independently tested and IFOS 5 star rated I don't ingest it.

Anecdotally, I had a friend with back pain due to a bad epidural and a car accidence (not simultaneously). She scoffed at the above suggested and blew $10k on imagining services out of pocket. She was told surgery might help, or it might not - no guarantees. She was scared of surgery and so she let me buy a bag of groceries and bring over the fish oil. I showed her what to cook and how to take the fish oil during a Superbowl party.

Four days later she called to tell me, and I quote, "I can't believe it, the inflammation is gone!"

The vast majority of issues were resolved through the use of cutting edge anti-inflammatory nutritional science.

As an example of a very good anti-inflammatory diet (better than mine!), check out Dr. Wahls' results..

Most people won’t investigate because they will ASSUME that if this was real the medical profession would know about it.

Big Pharma has a single legal corporate mandate – to maximize profits. Big Pharma controls much of medical school curricula. Since Big Pharma is all about maximizing profits, they teach doctors how to sell their product. Dr. Wahls’ approach doesn’t make Big Pharma money, so they won’t promote it in medical school and they will lobby against anyone else promoting it.

Yes, allopathic medicine was created by the same crowd that runs the fraudulent debt based monetary system that is bankrupting the world to their debt money pushing corporate fronts... so they are bad people.

As a very relevant aside, John D. Rockefeller, the key financier of allopathic medicine that, miraculously pushed his products as the "solution," didn't participate in the system he created. Neither did the European Royalty.

Even today, at least of the Debt Money Tyrant class doesn't apply straight allopathic medicine... David de Rothschild has a degree in Naturopathic Medicine - and his family may well be the biggest owner of Big Pharma companies in the world.

Search for Rockefeller Medicine Men at archive.org and search Wikipedia for John D. Rockefeller and David de Rothschild if you want to the details.

I get so frigging po'd at the media for releasing the results of one study before it has even been replicated and for people then assuming because they said it was no good for lower back pain that they generalize that it is no good for anything. Anyhow Ibuprofen is the drug of choice for inflammation for back pain as well as muscle relaxants and most doctors will tell you so. Anybody with back pain could tell you that acetaminophen is a second choice drug for back pain. And they had to do a study to find that out?

And Trivium I wish you would stfu about fraudulent debt based monetary systems. No matter the topic you manage to work it in somehow. Also, although there is some truth about drug companies making a lot of money from allopathic medicine, it is not all just Big Pharma taking advantage of us poor little underdogs. (Don't they also run natural homeopathic medicine then too? I use both systems.) I don't think you have ever done a post here without mentioning money. Well maybe one in grammar. You are just spouting what they taught you at your private school. (for people who can afford private education?)

You need to switch to some porn sites, Dude!

Diet is not a cure-all for everything nor is everything caused by stress. Placebos might work for the uninitiated for a short time.

I have been in agony for a week now from a bad reaction to a root canal. I rarely take drugs and do not have anesthetic on the many dental procedures I have had including root canals with live nerves. But let me tell you I was glad to take both Ibuprofen and Tylenol 3 at the same time to get some relief, if only for a a couple of hours. I don't care how much money Big Pharma makes. When I need help, it is there.

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so. Anon

I can honestly say I have had no relief from Panadol Ostio or any other paracetamol that has been prescribed by the doctor, and they have been quite

insistent that it is effective.

Then again I also told my doctor that Oxyconton should be renamed as oxymoron, I dont regard it as an effective pain killer.
