Chesterton, a highly cognizant individualist.

"Now" is the eternal present.

Other folks' advice is only as good as their own (limited) experience. One ought to listen to what others have to say, and then do exactly as Mr. Chesterton says--do your own thing! One's own experience dictates how one responds to any given situation, far better than another's.

I really like this quote! Maybe not always but usually it works exactly in this way!

It is too dangerous to recommend that stunt to anybody. Perhaps, any advice except the very best one can ruin all framework to nothingness.

His works have had great influence upon me. I used to read his short stories since I was 12 or 13 years old.

IN SOME INSTANCES - YES, WE MAY DO THE OPPOSITE SIDE ACCORDING TO WHAT TIME OR EVENT REQUIRES US TO RESPOND ... USE OUR OWN POTENTIALS AND ABILITIES TO COPE WITH LIFE'S CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES... HOWEVER, IT'S WISE TO LISTEN TO ELDERS ADVICE AND USE IT WHEN NECESSARY... ;)

I'd ask what his level of success actually amounted to, but advice isn't for everyone.

Make every post as if it was the first one in the thread.

I will take the first part of his quote and consider as a good advise. Whether I do as advice or not, then it will depend on the situation.

The way it is posed by Chesterton might be followed, but it has its own prejuicial set of beliefs that need to be unveiled: he was what they called a rookie, when a youngster and later on he became more and more conservative, as almost ev'ryone in the politiko scenario. I agree with most of the upper comment: it is not an advice for everyone to take.
