Watch Your TV Watching

With all the known health implications of a sedentary lifestyle, it may come as little surprise that excessive TV watching is tied to a higher risk of premature death. However, it appears that not all seated activities are created equal. Adults who watch three or more hours of TV a day are twice as likely to suffer a premature death as those who watch an hour or less, yet those who spend similar amounts of time behind the wheel or using a computer are not nearly as predisposed to an early death. Hours spent behind the wheel could well lead to early death for quite other reason, namely someone else may drive into your car! Is the essential difference between watching TV and other sedentary occupations is that you can let your mind wander and you may well fall asleep.

Driving while you are tired is dangerous and very stressful.

Watching TV while you are tired is safe and relaxing.

I have no more tv-cable since december 2009 (I had to look up that date). I don't feel I miss on something. I don't yet feel I gain on something neither in life, at least not yet and nothing that I'm aware of. But as you might know or not may know, the process of healing from a disease can take a lot of time.

I have no cable TV for a long time. I very seldom watch TV anyway. I watch news on internet. If I want to see a movie, I will rent one. I don't like to watch those commercials and waste my time.
