In 2010, it seemed that biology textbooks would have to be rewritten. At the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, in one of the most extreme environments on Earth, one research team found evidence of an animal able to live its entire life without oxygen... The tiny Mediterranean animals belong to a group called the loriciferans – an animal group so unusual that it was not discovered until the 1980s. One thing I typically do when I need to actively kill the time while not at home: texting my contacts then surfing the Web on my phone. Then I read pages of my mini-book of English grammar. I always have it with me, in case I need to kill time while I'm not home. Show me one of your favorite songs or music pieces.

International Cooperation
The International Space Station (ISS) Program’s greatest accomplishment is as much a human achievement as it is a technological one—how best to plan, coordinate, and monitor the varied activities of the Program’s many organizations.
An international partnership of space agencies provides and operates the elements of the ISS. The principals are the space agencies of the United States, Russia, Europe, Japan, and Canada. The ISS has been the most politically complex space exploration program ever undertaken. Show me one of your favorite celebrations in the world.

During the Holiday Season 2017, as I was running errands in a supermarket, I found a laaaarge papaya on sale. Papaya was one of my favorite fruits. That one looked unripe. Its price was unexpectedly low, given the usual price of papayas here and given its size. So I jumped at the chance and bought it. I expected to be ripe enough for the coming Christmas. At Chrismas lunch, I was so proud to display that large papaya for dessert. Its skin had become less green with time. I solemnly opened it. We tasted it: it was disgusting... How disappointing... I guess that explained the low price it was sold. Nobody at table wanted to hear about that fruit any longer, about that large disgusting fruit. To salvage from the wreck, I cut the whole papaya in dice and cooked them in a sugar syrup. The guests were suspicious. Once cooked, it tasted a bit better though but the guests were definitely not interested in tasting that fruit once again. Show me a country that is objectively experiencing decline.

The Card Players – $275 million Who wouldn’t love to own this series of oil painting that are so well known throughout the world. At a cost of $275 million the price is a bit steep for the average art collector. They are the creation of Paul Cezanne, famed French Post Impressionist artist. Just one of the pieces in this rare collection sold for $275 million, and it was purchased by the Royal Family of Qatar. It is notably listed as the second most expensive art piece that has ever been sold in the history of the world. Go to Wikipedia. Do a random article search. Post a link to the result.

I've just searched "a random article" ( :) ) on en.wikipedia.org and the first result is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_number_generation A random number generator (RNG) is a device that generates a sequence of numbers or symbols that cannot be reasonably predicted better than by a random chance. Random number generators can be true hardware random-number generators (HRNG), which generate genuinely random numbers, or pseudo-random number generators (PRNG) which generate numbers which look random, but are actually deterministic, and can be reproduced if the state of the PRNG is known.
Pick any number from 0 to 2050, do an image search based on it (expressed in digits) and show me the image you prefer among all the images your search engine is providing.

Facebook That social network has also got advantages. In 2008, I knew about Facebook's fame and success, yet I was not interested. But an American friend of mine told me she decided to publish her own private news on Facebook. So I had to create my own Facebook account. In the beginning, using Facebook wasn't really interesting to me: I had very few Facebook-friends, very few pages I liked, very few groups I was a member of, which made my newsfeed not very exciting. But the more you do, the more you want to do. I browsed many, many pages and groups then connected with all the ones I liked (I don't easily likes pages and groups). As a result, my newsfeed became much more interesting to me. I can explore it for hours, I interact with Facebookers in pages and groups. Also, I have more Facebook-friends (actual friends and Facebook-contacts) and I enjoy sharing, chatting, audio- and video-calling with a dozen of them thanks to Facebook. I've customized my own Facebook-world. To me, it is a tool for learning, communicating, sharing, growing, improving, interacting.

The fact is: we're heading for disaster. How fast? We're not sure. We regularly have clues though. Just another sword of Damocles above our heads. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2019/02/19/thwaites-glacier-if-hole-collapses-global-warming-what-happens/2789989002/"If this cavity grows or sort of expands, that’s one way it can get off this last sort of ridge that Thwaites Glacier is hanging on to," Zoet told USA TODAY.
What especially worries scientists is if the melting accelerates. If all the ice on Thwaites is lost, it would raise ocean levels an additional 2 feet, according to the NASA study. But the glacier also backstops neighboring glaciers. If those glaciers also melt, sea levels could rise an additional eight feet, researchers warn.
Antarctic ice melting 6 times faster than it did four decades ago.
Ancient Antarctic ice sheet collapse could happen again, triggering a new global flood Imagine you can borrow for free whatever you wish for one month ( only), after which you'll give that thing back to its owner. Show me what thing you borrow.

The first season of Desperate Housewives, an American television series created by Marc Cherry, commenced airing in the United States on October 3, 2004, concluded May 22, 2005, and consisted of 23 episodes. It tells the story of Mary Alice Young, a seemingly perfect housewife who commits suicide, fearing that a dark secret, involving her, her husband, and their son would be exposed. At her wake, Mary Alice's four close friends and the main characters, Susan Mayer, Lynette Scavo, Bree Van de Kamp and Gabrielle Solis, are introduced. All of them live in the suburb of Fairview on Wisteria Lane. Narrating the series from the grave, Mary Alice describes how her friends try to find out the reason for her suicide, while trying to deal with the problems of their personal lives. Show me weird food for humans.

I don't really know what to think about reincarnation... The Western way to look at it partially inspires me. However, I find it simplistic. Let's assume reincarnation is real, including reincarnating as an extraterrestrial. Let's simplify even more and limit reincarnation to humans on Earth. -> I'd be a mixed-race man, born in the 23rd century. I'd be a scientist and interspecies diplomat. In those times, the human population would be between two and three billion. We'd master interstellar travels (not galactic yet). We'd know "we are not alone in the Universe": the first extraterrestrial civilization would have officially contacted Earth leaders and scientists in 2025 (not many people noticed that because WW3 was still going on then). Several dozen other extraterrestrial civilizations followed. I'd be an exobiologist (I'd be scientifically studying life in the Universe, especially extraterrestrial life) and a diplomat: no matter how surprising extraterrestrials could look like, I'd negociate with them. Among other things, that would require mastering their language, fully being aware of what is at stake, traveling, learning, teaching, self-control, risk taking, etc. I'd be an Earthling in between worlds. Show me one of the oldest structures in the country you live in.

The Porta Nigra (black gate in Latin) was built by the Romans at the end of the 2nd century. It is situated in the oldest city in Germany: Trier. The gate was one of four original Roman gates guarding the city. Only the Porta Nigra still stands. It is the largest Roman city gate north of the Alps and is a World Heritage Site. The sandstone blocks used to build the Porta Nigra were cut by bronze saws powered by mill wheels. The stones weighed up to six metric tons and used no mortar. Custom cancer vaccines
The treatment incites the body’s natural defenses to destroy only cancer cells by identifying mutations unique to each tumor
Scientists are on the cusp of commercializing the first personalized cancer vaccine. If it works as hoped, the vaccine, which triggers a person’s immune system to identify a tumor by its unique mutations, could effectively shut down many types of cancers.
