And so, why did he insist on the last word?

A fool will always be a fool. It doesn't matter if he had his last words or not. All his life was a testimony that he had been a fool and nothing will change it!

A fool?! Only a fool would type that.

The man was brilliant, whether or not you agree with his philosophy. He introduced a different way of viewing economies.

Like it or not, most Western economies more closely resemble his ideas than they do Adam Smith's. It's a sliding scale, and every nation lands somewhere along the gamut.

Nobody else noticed this is supposed to be by both Marx and Engels?

I know communism is the subjugation of the self to the ideology, but this is carrying it a bit far!

Engels didn't die till 1895 - that is a long time to linger after your last words! Whistle

Any last words before meeting with God must be considered more carefully, unless you are an atheist, of course.

Karl Marx : “Go on, get out! Last words are for fools who haven’t said enough!”

This was shouted by the German philosopher at his housekeeper after she asked if he had any last words. Marx died on March 14, 1883, from bronchitis and pleurisy, after 15 months of ill health.

Marx...a woolly thinking idealist who took no account of human nature.

Quite interesting to see the vitriol still being spewed at this guy after all these years. I can only hope to have people hate me for half as long to know that I've made a real and lasting good change to the world.

It's sure easy to call other people fools, huh?

Make every post as if it was the first one in the thread.

I am no Marxist, I am a life long (British) Liberal Democrat. (or Literal Doomacrat) However his and Engle's idea of communism was not a foolish idea as many on this thread have asserted, it was the execution of that idea by flawed corrupt humans that was foolish.

Just a thought Whistle ........

Agree. And as a US Green, I've heard far too many people (even Democrats) call those who do not agree with them "Marxists" or "Socialists" without the first inkling of what those words even mean.
