Sometimes I think brilliant insight is vaporous and deceptive.

Can we speak of gauzy eyes, to mean eyes that are limpid and reflecting the truly felt emotions?

Well, you could, but if I read 'gauzy' eyes, I would more naturally think of eyes as if there were a veil of thin gauze in front of them, hiding the true emotions.

I disagree with the idea that vaporous are synonymous with diaphanous, the latter means transparent while the steam can not see clearly the images. The only thing in common could be lightness......

Vaporous would be more about something that is ephemeral and misty (to me anyway).

Hello everyone,

Here is an excellent word source that I use: http://thesaurus.com/browse/diaphanous

English is a language richly endowed with nuance by the many tongues from which is derived. The thesaurus is an invaluable tool for discovering shades of meaning and connotation.

We beheld then, as if in a dream state, solid forms morph into a vaporous exhalation that serenely wafted away.

"Now" is the eternal present.
