My fish story is true... my Mom caught the biggest fish in the family - a 55 lb salmon - and my hardcore fisherman Dad still hasn't reconciled himself to that fact. ;-)

The best way to control the opposition is to finance it. Birds of prey have two wings; the left wing & right wing.

'Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish'

That's right. It wouldn't do much good to tell a fish story about a great big bass when everyone knows there are only minnows and sunfish in the pond

You can't make any political career if you can't tell truly fishy stories without blinking an eye of course fishy eye.

On the other hand: the bigger the lie the more readily are people to tend to accept it i.e. - the ancient pyramids were tombs and built by primitive bronze age people.

"Now" is the eternal present.

More particularly, don't tell them at the fish market.

I guess it means don't lie, embellish or exaggerate facts that can be easily refuted by bystanders and or people who were recipient or victim of your grandiose act?
