The bomb, code-named Little Boy, was the first atomic weapon deployed in the history of warfare and killed tens of thousands of people. Can you blame the child who finds the gun and shots his sister not knowing what a gun is capable of? Conversely, can you blame the pilot who drops the bomb, a weapon available for use and additionally used during a war where the Japanese were so brutal to prisoners of war that Tibbets' staff had twelve cyanide tablets in the event of being shot down and taken by the Japanese? I think we, as a nation, should take Isaiah's advice: 'turn our swords into plow shears' because if the sword is available, it will be used.
