A man and his money are soon departed. It is good to be somewhat frugal. Isn't interesting that no matter what we earn, we usually spend it; and, even when we don't spend it all, there is someone trying to get that last nickel from our pocket.

Nobody wants to be called a prodigal but nowadays the internet, the social media and the advertisings have been transforming the people.
So, this word (scatter + good) maybe should sound "scatterbad".
We live to pay accounts, buy goods and now... expose them in the internet to our friends.
I have it. And you?

A fool and his money are soon departed.

Scattergood is a timely word. We in a capitalist economy have placed our value in what we have instead of who we are. The logical conclusion of such a way of life is having things but not meaningful relationships. We live alone and have at best superficial relationships. Probably tribal society (without a patriarchial religion) is a healthier way to live.

I like their usage of the word scattergood. I guess everyone has their passion and everything has a price. One person's scattergood behavior is another person's strategic investment.

Please to correct, most honorable curmudg, but I perceive that Christine's intent is as written in her post.

"Now" is the eternal present.
