(adjective) Of or on the lower or inner surface of an organ that faces the axis.

Synonyms: adaxial

Usage: The ventral surface of the leaf was coated with a waxy cuticle that prevented it from drying out.

The dolphin has both a ventral and a dorsal fin. The ventral is on the bottom. Unless he plays on the Miami football team.

You've got it, Drew. It's an anatomy 101 lab term. Not caudal, but ventral. Not dorsal, ventral...Ventral, ventral, ventral! It is a cavity that nine out of ten dentists leave alone.
