Was Steven there too?

Steven was notably absent. The interrogation, however, ended without result. Bandits denied any connection with semantic or antisemantic movements.

Edited because of Steven's interference.

It took Jefferson more than twenty minutes to find the key, open the dungeon and switch off the broken record.

The dungeon master called out, "NO!" Jefferson replied, "OH YEAH!" and locked the door behind him. (Turned out Steven was not to blame for the keys after all!)

Almost a year later, he emerged triumphantly from the dungeon and announced: "Mission accomplished!"

Then quietly, almost poignantly, Steven closed the curtains and retreated to the confines of the dark and foggy graveyard, anticipating the welcoming hoots to begin again one day.

Despite eleven months on graveyard watch Steven felt remarkably optimistic when the owl landed on his shoulder.

Soon, however, he regretted his optimism a lot when his shoulder was displaced by the heavy owl!

- "Both", he replied
- "But I gave you three options."
- "I don't give a hoot. Call the owlbulance, then. I've got a diswolcated showlder."

- "Where are you?"
- "Where should I be?! I'm dying in a graveyard!"
- "Sir, you are calling for a disowlcated shoulder, now you are in a graveyard?! Nothing else to add?!"
- "Yeah life is just a bowl of cherries for me here. Couldn't you just send the bloody owlbulance already?!"

The owlbulance arrived. By this time, several ghosts had risen from their graves and were looking on with morbid curiosity.
"How are you feeling now, Sir?"
"I am not in the best of spirits."
"Don't worry, sir – there are often ghouls at the scene of an accident."

As the owlbulance flew away, Merriweather Lewis re-appeared through the mists; the fox at his feet.

Merri looked down at his companion, but found himself alone. "Am I mist-aken? My mind is be-fogged; Was I really chatting with a fox?"

'Forget about that Guy', crowed Fawkes, Dumbledore's intelligent phoenix, who had risen from the ashes of a spilt urn.

Jefferson: "Oh wait a second; this one is still smouldering. It may still work!!"
Watchman: "Let me see!"
- "Go away! It's mine!"
- "Oh come ON!"

"We'll meet again" immediately lodged in Jefferson's brain as "Whale meet again" and the pun on Vera Lynn's song was stuck on his gramophone all night.

8am, Steven is miraculously back at his watch safe and sound; though giving real hoot to every hoot!

Thus, having fully traversed a splendidly circuitous series of incongruous concatenations our unwittingly seasoned wayfarer arrived betwixt and between the wonder of an impossible experience lived within a dream.

11 p.m., Spielberg was waiting at the shooting spot as Jefferson barely made his way in through the junk of fireworks around the graves, humming Vera Lynn's "We'll meet again."

"Who else is in the cast?", asked Jefferson.
"I am", replied Steven, indicating the plaster on his shoulder. "Owl meet again."

Realizing that he had been written out of the script our recently returned protagonist quickly set about the task of composing a cleverly worded diatribe against the screenwriters guild complaining that he didn't give a hoot about Spielberg and that as for casting he should be fitted with a whole body model.

11:30 am and still no shooting.

On cue, Meriwether Lewis walked in, perusing (note that - "perusing") a letter from the Screenwriter's Guild and scratching his chin with the barrel of his (fake) pistol.
