Domestic cats are valued by humans both for their companionship and their skill at hunting vermin and other household pests. Yet, it appears that we have long underestimated their killing prowess. A recent study estimates that cats are responsible for an astounding number of bird and mammal deaths each year, reaching well into the billions in the US alone. The wild cat population has decimated many tiny native animals in Australia.

I comes from people that have had litters and dont want to have them put down, so release them into the bush, and there starts the problem.

Domestic cats let out over night also cause a problem with roosting birds.

The same thing applies to domestic dogs, if you want a cat or a dog then look after it.
