I have so many, but, currently, this one holds sway:

What are yours? I am almost certain that this thread is a repeat. But, I stand on the idea that new members have arrived since the last post to whatever archaic thread that precedes. So, please share!

Not sure about my all time favourite, but at the moment it is Heaven 17's We Don't Need That Fascist Groove Thang

The best thing the BEF did was to split from the Human League. Phil Oakey's haircut was probably too embarrassing to look at after a while.

Of course ... there's also Temptation

They just don't make 'em like this any more ...

I also love "The Long and Winding Road" but it reminds me that once, in the area where I live, a graduating class wanted to use John Lennon's "Imagine" as their theme song and the school would not allow it - anti-Christian I believe was the reason. Sad!

Too many to list.

People ask me " What kind of music do you listen to ? " My usual response is " All of it."

I don't let this song too far away from me.

I used this Spirit song in my early 20s to warm up my voice for singing as I jogged from my house
above the beach on the northwest coast of Puerto Rico. As I ran down the cliff path then through
a coconut grove where the tall grass was groomed by a herd of bulls to arrive at the beach,
the opening lines stretched my vocal chords into an even baritone and the rhythm of the song matched my footfalls.
Yearning to be reunited with my lover who had left our house to return to college in the Midwest,
I saw myself standing up to the unfairness of our situation much as the guy in the song
dreams of standing up to his lover's unforgiving father.

....."Hey hey hey ee Hey hey hey
.....You've got to sing a song if you want to get along!"

.....Apple Orchard

Soon after I got out of the Navy, my lover agreed to marry me, and we've been together all these years.
Most times, just a hint that the line

....."Well I've been looking at your daughter
.....And I've been thinkin bout her most every way"

is on my mind leads us right back to paradise. ..Whistle

I have many favourite songs, one for each different mood I'm in. I recall having spent a whole Xmas day just listening to Joy Division's albums, because at that time I was feeling so sad and lonely and dealing with a mild "no-longer-teen-about-to-become-an-adult" depression. Every time I prepare some good Italian dish I love listening to jazz/lounge tunes, moving along to their rythm while I'm chopping onions or else.
I really can't think of a song that towers on other ones, I do love any kind of music, from MC5's Kick out the jams to Vivaldi's Four Seasons. In recent years, I've discovered Lamonte Young's avant-garde opus: quite amazing.

One of my all time favourite shut-the-doors-crank-it-up-and-just-howl songs, in a version I only just found and which is, I think, quite wonderful.

Hi Christine. Once you've pasted the url into the link box it'll prompt you to ' url description'. Whatever you type in there will appear as your link, so you can put artist/title there.

While I'm here, this is magnificent...
