Leo Frank Lynched (1915)

Leo Frank was a Jewish-American factory manager who was accused of raping and murdering his employee, 13-year-old Mary Phagan. Frank was convicted, despite evidence incriminating a janitor at the factory, but his death sentence was commuted when further evidence called his guilt into question. A group with ties to the Ku Klux Klan then kidnapped and lynched Frank in a highly publicized event that turned the spotlight on anti-Semitism in the US and led to the founding of what organization? This story is sad.

I am carrying my heart~I am carrying my rhythm~I am carrying my prayers~But you can't kill my spirit~It's soaring and strong (Paula Cole's Me Lyrics)***We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We ARE spirtual beings having a human experience.(T.deChardin)***There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. (Albert Einstein)

This story is more than sad, it shows the terrible mentality of the deep south. I should know, I lived
about one mile from the tree that existed in my day on Freys Gin road near roswell rd. in marietta. Everyone
knew which big oak tree it was. Then developers decided the tree interferred with a parking lot and it was
cut down. Marietta is big now but the mentality of some in that place is still in 1915. I hope you don't
think that everyone who lived there was as bigoted as those who decided to hang Leo Frank. Not true,
but a lot of people are. Just remember that this is history now and hope that it never happens again.

peace
