Corb speaking truth to power -

there seem to me an awful lot of charltans round here
and hustlers, cheats and anglers, fixers, sharps and mutineers
the factory and subterfuge and corporato cheat
conspire to fast reduce us to the stamping of our feet
the lords of mass producto mass product at quite a pace
it won't be long these counterfeit blues'll run the whole damn place

Nice one exy.

How about some more Jeff Beck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvLobZeY9bk

20 years it may be Tiam, but that groove is the sine qua non of FUNK.

Timeless and so smooth. Those horns seem to puff like billowed clouds.

Thanks!

From North of 49 I bear a gift for you all : The Good Lovelies Singing the great Gordon Lightfoot's ' Song For A Winter's Night

I'd also recommend a fireplace, hot chocolate with a shot ( or two ) of peppermint schnapps and a dash of triple sec. Oh and, of course, someone to share all this beauty with... Angel

Exy - you have a keen nose for sniffing out unique musical sounds my friend. The heavy metal banjo riff, the accordion lead break, the spoon and double bass back, and the regular guy vocals are the stuff of Hootenanny Hillbilly dreams.

Here's one of my own:

Thanks for reminding me of Supper's Ready JJ!

This week I heard one of my most loved guitarists of the late 80's and early 90's on the radio and had to find out that he died in 1997 in a car accident

Here are 2 of my favourite songs from Michael Hedges

If you only want to sample one song though, this one, Room to Move, has an amazing mouth percussion, and vocal sound effects portion, and a totally jammin harmonica.

Usually Country is well outside my musical taste, but this guy is very talented. I think some of his guitar work would fall outside of what would normally be called country guitar. Then of course that is probably just a rationalization for why I like it.

Does that bring back memories!

I had the good fortune to see this drummer-less ensemble in concert. The opening act was Taj Mahal, promoting his "Giant Steps" lp with an atypical country western backup band. The main act was none other than B. B. King himself.

Good times!

Edited to add,

Although for "mood music", I would recommend "Roxanne" as one of the subtlest and most haunting riffs of all time.

"Make it go away, Mrs Whatsit," he whispered. "Make it go away. It's evil."

Ep - Glad to know you appreciate Jr's guit-steel talent. He designed that strange six string may be the world's only guit-steel player.
His Steviesque riffing and blues sounds like Hendrix meets Nashville. It's definitely a niche market.

After feasting on a main course of legendary Mayall, y'all ought to try a slice of Broke Down South of Dallas:
