I may be less advanced than you, so I hesitate to comment. Here's an alternate site...I don't mean to spam, I don't know what's permitted here. http://www.spanishdict.com/ I'm posting this since no one has responded. If you don't get help here or elsewhere, I can comment on a few things, just don't know if I'd be very helpful.

What I see from that is that you should pay close attention to genders.

Apart from some particular cases, 99% of the words that end with -a are femenine and the article that should be used is "la" for singular and "las" for plural. The same happens with masculine, whereas words ending in -o (or some other endings but you can notice that if it isn't femenine it is masculine) take the article "el" for singular and "los" for plural.

So the correct sentences are the following:

1.) The music room was soundproofed.

My attempt: El habitacion de musica era insonorizado.
CORRECT: LA habitación de música era a prueba de sonido.
Explanation: Words ending in -ción are femenine. There isn't a 1=1 translation for the word "soundproofed".

2.) The mourner cried very well for the money she was paid.

My attempt: La plañidera llorado muy buen por el dinero ella era pagado.
CORRECT: La doliente lloró muy bien por el dinero que le pagaron.
(It is quite senseless, but well...)

3.) The governor of Virginia has ordered a sonogram for those women wanting an abortion.

El gobernador de virginia ha ordenado un ecografio por los mujeres deseando un aborto.
CORRECT: El gobernador de Virginia ha ordenado una ecografía para las mujeres que desean un aborto.
(Avoid translating -ing verbs into Spanish literally. Again, be careful with genders)

4.) My boss has said I need to work faster.

Mi patrono ha dicho que necesito trabajar más rapidamente.
CORRECT: Mi jefe ha dicho que necesito trabajar más rápidamente.
(Check vocabulary)

5. The raven has eaten all my garden vegetables.

La corneja ha comido todos mis verduras jardin.
CORRECT: El cuervo ha comido todas las verduras de mi jardín.
(Vocabulary. "Garden vegetables" = "Vegetables of my garden"? Then -> "vegetales de mi jardín")

6.) I have found hundreds of dollars in coins under the washing machines.

Yo ha hallado centenares de dollares en monedas debajo las lavadoras.
CORRECT: (Yo) He encontrado cientos de dólares en monedas debajo de las lavadoras.
(Vocabulary. You say "cientos" for money, "centenares" for other kind of objects.)

7. ) The military bugle has awoken more men than the sun.

El corneta militar ha despertado más hombres que el sol.
CORRECT: La corneta militar ha despertado a más hombres que el sol.
(Genders. In spanish the structure for "awake someone" is "despertar A alguien")

8. ) I received a bouquet of flowers for Valentines day.

Recibí un ramilette de flores para el día se San Valentín.
CORRECT!
(Spelling: ramillete, de)

9.) If I block the hole the vase will not leak.

Si bloqueo el agujero el vaso no chorrearé.
CORRECT: Si bloqueo el agujero, el jarrón no chorreará.
(Vocabulary & grammar. "Vaso" = "glass", "vase" = "jarrón". Chorrearé is for first person singular, chorreará is for third person sing.)

10.) I had to wash the slate after class.

Tuve que lavar la pizarra despues después de clase.
CORRECT!
(You just wrote "después" twice for some reason :P)

11.) The frame of the kite was made of wood.

El armazón del cometa era hecha de la madera.
CORRECT: El armazón del cometa estaba hecho de madera.
("armazón" is masculine, so "hecho" should match the gender. "Estaba" sounds better than "era", but I can't really tell why...)

12.) His nonsense is making me ill.

Sus pamemas me están haciendo enfermo.
CORRECT: Sus tonterías me están enfermando.
(Vocabulary: you don't "make someone ill" in Spanish, it is the verb "enfermar")

13.) The banker was very self-centered.

El banquero era muy arribista.
(I don't know the word "arribista", but I hope you have checked that word in a good dictionary)

14.) I feel confined in a car.

Siento confinado en un carro.
CORRECT: Me siento atrapado en un auto
(Quite senseless, but well, it isn't wrong..)

I hope it's useful :)
